Fayetteville, NC

CALYX’s key work in this congested area involved replacing a 30-year-old, structurally deficient bridge, building three retaining walls, and improving four intersections. The project was initiated to improve safety after 226 accidents and one fatality were reported in the three years before the project began. The road was closed at the interchange ramps for six months to expedite the bridge replacement process, and the existing bridge columns and footings were reused.

This project received the Women’s Transportation Seminar’s Innovative Transportation Solutions Award and an award from Southeast Regional for Innovative Management.
