Burrage Road Rehabilitation
CALYX partnered with the City of Concord to rehabilitate Burrage Road from Lake Concord Road to the new bridge over Three Mile Branch. The existing roadway was concrete and had deficiencies that needed repair. The only efficient way to repair the concrete roadway was to remove the concrete, reestablish the existing subgrade, and pave with asphalt. The project also included installing new curb and gutter and concrete sidewalk. The new roadway is 32 feet wide with a lane width of 14 feet. The south side of the roadway from Lake Concord Road to Three Mile Branch has a continuous, six-foot-wide sidewalk.
CALYX provided hydraulic design, geotechnical investigations with foundation recommendations, location and surveys, erosion control plans, SUE, utility coordination, roadway design, structure design, and prepared the permit application, planning document, construction contract proposal and estimates, and utility conflict plans.
