Heather Wallace, environmental project manager at CALYX Engineers and Consultants, an NV5 Company, has been promoted to environmental services group manager. In this new role, Heather will manage the company’s environmental services in North Carolina and South Carolina.
Heather served as environmental program consultant with the North Carolina Department of Transportation before joining CALYX in 2015 as environmental project manager. Her 18 years of experience as an environmental professional includes surveying and monitoring plants and wildlife, jurisdictional wetland and stream delineations, biotic community inventories, and morphological and biological data collection for stream and wetland restoration projects. Additionally, she has a comprehensive knowledge of the consultation process as it relates to the Endangered Species Act. In 2016, she received her recovery permit for bats from the US Fish and Wildlife Service.
“Taking on the group manager position was a natural progression for Heather,” said Jay Bissett, PE, Carolinas transportation manager at CALYX. “With her extensive experience and strong working relationship with state and federal agencies, she is absolutely the right choice for the job.”
Heather is a graduate of Appalachian State University and lives in Raleigh, North Carolina.
